Does the Visitor Information Centre make complete travel itinerary bookings?
The Tourism Top End Visitor Information Centre is the best place to start your Top End experience. We offer a Free booking service for all your tours, attractions, accommodation and vehicle hire with unlimited kilometres. Our friendly and knowledgeable consultants can help you create an itinerary for your trip that best suits your budget and timeframe.
Can I make changes or cancellations online?
If you are needing to make any changes or cancel your booking please phone through to Tourism Top End on 1300 138 886 and our friendly staff will be happy to assist. Don’t forget to ask if any cancellation fees will apply.
Do I get a refund if I cancel the tour?
Cancellation fees can apply this can be checked with our friendly consultants. Please note that all operators will have different cancelations policies. You can also refer to Tourism Top End’s terms and conditions.
What deposits or up-front payments do you require?
A 30% deposit is required on booking and full payment is required to secure the booking. Please be aware that for certain bookings full payment is required up front. This can be confirmed with your consultant before payment is processed.
How long should I book in advance?
During our Dry Season May – October the Top End’s tours, attractions and accommodation can often book out. We would recommend booking close to the beginning of the year or as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
What type of cards do you accept? Do you have a card fee?
We accept the following cards; Visa, Mastercard and China Union Pay. Please be aware that we have a 1.5% credit card fee. If you would like to avoid this fee contact our friendly staff on 1300 138 886 to see if a bank transfer is possible.
Can I make a bank transfer?
If you would like to make a bank transfer that is no problem. We just ask that we receive full payment 6 week in advance. If you would like to discuss please contact our friendly staff at the Visitor Information centre on 1300 138 886
Do you require all passenger names and contact details of tour group?
We require you to provide all passenger names, ages, medical and dietary requirements, we also require pick-up and drop off points. This information is then passed onto the tour company you have been booked onto. This is so they can make sure that they can cater to your needs through-out the tour.
Can I make a Car hire booking online?
If you would like to book a car jump onto our car hire page. There you will find a form that can be completed and one of our friendly staff will send through a quote. If you have any questions contact the Visitor Information centre on 1300 138 886 and they will be able to answer any questions you may have.
What type of vehicles can I book?
We have a large range of vehicles for hire these include 2WD and 4WD’s, camper trailer hire, 4WD camper van hire, camper van hire, motorhome hire, luxury vehicle hire, coach hire, mini bus hire. We can also book one-way rentals to Alice Springs, Kununurra & Broome, coach transfers and airport shuttle service. Don’t forget to ask about our unlimited kilometres.
Do I need an international drivers licence to hire a car if I am not from Australia?
In order to hire a vehicle you must hold a valid current Australian, New Zealand, International or overseas drivers licence and have held that licence for a minimum of 12 months. Overseas licences that are not easily identifiable as a drivers licence must be accompanied by an International Licence or certified English translation. You must also hold a valid credit card, and be over 21 years old.
Can I use my own insurance cover and loyalty card provider when booking car hire?
With all our vehicle bookings insurance can be added however, if you would like to have your own cover please just inform us when booking. That we can let the rental company know you will be providing your own cover.
Do I need to give my flight details when I make a booking?
By providing us with your flight details we are able to pass them onto your accommodation or car rental provider. This will help them so they are aware of your arrival time and in case of any flight delays.
I’m coming into Darwin on a cruise ship. Can I make a booking online?
Bookings can be made online or calling our friendly staff at the Visitor Information centre on 1300 138 886. Just remember when making a booking to check the pick-up and drop-off times to make sure that they a line with the arrive and departure of your ship. The Information Centre may also have tours on offer for the day you arrive.
