Embark on a field trip with the MAGNT Education Team and discover the local fauna and topography of Darwin’s newest park, the Casuarina Coastal Reserve. Learn how to identify different types of birds and conduct land-based surveys before returning to the Museum to apply your citizen scientist skills.

The field trip bus will depart MAGNT at 8am bound for the Dripstone Park Picnic area. Travel with us or make your own way there for an 8.30am start. Everyone will head back to MAGNT at 10am and regroup for follow up activities in the Discovery Centre.

7.45am | Check -in commences at entrance to MAGNT

8.00am | Field trip bus departs MAGNT

8.30am | Field walk commences from the shelter closest to Dripstone Cliffs staircase

10.00am | Field trip bus departs Casuarina Coastal Reserve

10.30am | Citizen Science activities commence in the Discovery Centre

12.00pm | Pack up and pick up

Suitable for ages 8 - 14 years | Free | Bookings essential | Accompanying adults are encourage but not required
Appropriate closed in footwear for bush walking, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks and drink bottles are essential.
This is a dedicated children's program. Adults can only attend if accompanying children.
